ADVANCED DIPLOMAS
Diplomas are an exciting new qualification that Paston is offering for the first time in 2010. Diplomas combine practical, theoretical, and applied learning across a wide range of subjects and are ideal preparation for university, further training or employment.
Advanced Diplomas are an alternative to AS/A2 (A-level) and BTEC Extended Diplomas and are full time courses lasting two years.
Diplomas are made up of:
• Principal Learning in your chosen subject (Creative and Media)
• Additional Learning in a similar or completely different subject (eg AS Film Studies)
• An Individual Research Project
• Work Experience of at least 10 days
• Functional Skills in English, Maths, and ICT
• Personal, Learning & Thinking skills

The Advanced Diploma is a two-year full time course equivalent to three A-levels.
What qualifications do I need to get a place on this course?
At least 5 GCSEs at Grade C including two GCSE grade Cs from English Language, Maths or Science.
How will I be assessed on the Diploma?
The Diplomas are assessed through a combination of project work and exams.
