The topics you will cover during this course are:

Pure mathematics: Proof, algebra, functions, graphs, coordinate geometry, sequences and series, trigonometry, exponentials and logarithms, calculus, numerical methods and vectors.

Statistics: Statistical sampling, data presentation and interpretation, probability, probability distributions and statistical hypothesis testing.

Mechanics: Models and quantities, kinematics in one dimension, kinematics in two dimensions, projectiles, forces, Newton’s laws of motion and rigid bodies.

You will have the opportunity to attend trips to inspire you and to enhance your passion for the subject. The Maths Inspiration trip to Cambridge allows you to see the wider applications of the subject. We also attend a Mathematical symposium in Norwich where you get the opportunity to be inspired by outstanding external speakers.

If you achieve good grades in GCSE Maths, you should consider taking mathematics further. Some students may be required to take on a bridging course on algebra prior to be accepted on the course.
