What You Will Study
As one of our courses on our employment pathway, our Ticket course aims to prepare students for a successful future in employment. This course will provide students with the knowledge, skills and practical work experience opportunities to become highly effective and successful employee within the workplace.
As part of your course you will cover the following subjects:
-Planning & Preparation- Target setting
-BTEC Work Skill Units
-Employability skills development
-Work experience, working in a group or 1:1 with a job coach
-Life Skills & preparing for adult life
-Sport, Fitness & team work
-Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, at a level that is appropriate level for you
This course is ideal for you if you need some additional time to develop the skills and qualities required to become a successful employee and if you want to gain real-life experience of work that you can add to your CV.
Group size 8, 3 days a week for 1 year
Entry Requirements
This course is designed for students who are aged 16- 25 and who have additional needs and/or disabilities. There are no formal Entry requirements for this course, however most learners who access this course will have an EHCP.
How You Will Be Assessed
During the course you will work towards achieving an E3 or L1 BTEC Work skills qualification. Your completed units for the qualification will be marked and assessed.
Your tutor will set you targets that will help you meet your EHCP outcomes, and your progress will be reviewed against these.
English and Maths qualifications at a level which suit you, assessment will be via formal examination.
Where Your Course Can Take You
What next? Students can progress onto a Work Matters Supported Internships or MINT Supported Employment Agency.
Fees
If you have an EHCP the college will apply for funding for you to access this course.
