T Levels at Paston College
T Levels are two-year courses that follow on from GCSEs. They are an alternative study option to A Levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses. They provide progression routes into skilled and technical employment, or onto higher/degree apprenticeships and university.
T Levels are equivalent in size to three A levels and are developed and designed with employers to provide you with the skills and knowledge required to get into a technical career. They combine classroom study with on-the-job training as part of a substantial industry placement. Industry placements with an employer will last at least 315 hours.
Academic and technical
Approximately 70% to 80% of your study will be spent at college for academic and technical study and 20% to 30% will be practical experience gained with an employer as part of an industry placement, where these skills are put into action.
Core and specialist
Courses will include core and specialist content. This will combine theory and understanding with hands-on skills required for an occupational specialism.
Occupation specific
Students will gain any required occupational specialisms, such as a licence to practice qualification, as part of the course.
