He’s the handsome, free-thinking scholar, recently returned home to the north Italian city of Parma.

She’s the beautiful, witty daughter of a successful merchant, admired and desired throughout the city.

They fall passionately in love. What can possibly go wrong?

‘Tis Pity She’s a Whore has shocked and captivated audiences since its first performances in 1632. Far East Theatre’s new production of John Ford’s taboo-busting classic tells the story of Annabella and Giovanni’s romance, set against the vice and violence of a corrupt city state.
