Christopher Sainton-Clark shares how his Paston College journey has seen him follow his ambitions of working on professional productions.
Campus life and a mature learning environment
I chose to study at Paston as I wanted to move away from school sixth form for a new experience. I loved the campus environment.
I enjoyed the mature approach to education at college and I became much more focused on my studies outside of college hours than I ever was at high school.
I found my time at college so rewarding, I learnt so much from being there, I matured as a person and made great friends.
Enjoying theatrics
Paston College helped me to get my first job in theatre and I have been working in theatre eve since.
Since leaving college, I have been an assistant stage manager for three professional productions, a deputy stage manager for three professional productions and shadowed at the National Theatre.
I am now a company stage manager for a professional pantomime and I'm studying technical theatre at an apprenticeship level to support my stage management career.
Next steps
In future, I want to work as a stage manager across the country and have the technical knowledge to be able to solve any issues that other stage managers may not be able to.
