College closed today: snow disrupts travel
10th February 2021
Weather and travel conditions have improved although the North Walsham area has seen heavy snowfall over the past few days: Paston College campus will re-open after half-term, in the week beginning Monday 22 February but only for students who are expected to attend. Online teaching and learning will continue.
Although weather conditions have eased today, travel remains difficult in some areas. Since virtually all of Paston College teaching and learning is currently being delivered online we have decided not to reopen the college campus tomorrow Wednesday 10 February. Updates for Thursday and Friday will be made tomorrow.
With the forecast remaining wintry and advice from Norfolk Police to avoid all unnecessary journeys, Paston College will remain closed on Tuesday 9 February. Teaching and learning will continue online as it has since the beginning of term. Updates will follow on the website and on social media.
Snow is affecting travel across large parts of East Anglia. We have decided to close Paston College to all students and staff to minimise risk. Fortunately, teaching and learning is currently being delivered online and that will continue as normal. We will update websites and social media and communicate via College emails about any disruption beyond Monday 8 February.
