Ryan Howes shares how his Paston College journey has seen him follow his ambitions of acting and nursing in London.
Dramatic reputation
I chose to study at Paston College as it has a great reputation for drama training and the facilities are fantastic. I studied a BTEC in Performing Arts (Acting).
Preparing for the future
My time at Paston College was a great experience, the skills I developed put me in a strong position to get into drama school and pursue the career of my choice.
The tutors on the course were fantastic. They dedicated a lot of time and effort into helping me get through the audition process and into drama school.
The extracurricular activities at college were brilliant. The Wednesday afternoon drama sessions were a lot of fun and a great way to meet people from other courses.
From acting to nursing
I graduated from the acting degree course at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in 2013. After that, I worked as a professional actor, touring in various stage shows in England and Europe.
In 2015 I stepped back from full time acting to study on the adult nursing degree course at the University of East Anglia. I graduated from UEA in 2018 and I now continue to pursue a full-time acting career while nursing in central London during the quiet periods.
