Governors

The Corporation of City College Norwich consists of up to 17 Governor members. The College Governors serve in a voluntary capacity for initially a period of four years although often go on to be involved with the college over a much longer period.

Governors elect a Chairman and Vice Chairman from amongst their number. In addition to attending Corporation Board meetings, Governors also serve as members of one or two of the committees which undertake the detailed work of the Corporation during the year. Under the Corporation’s constitution (Instrument & Articles of Government), the Governors are appointed to the Corporation by Transforming Education in Norfolk, the parent body of the Federation which the College is a partner in. Additionally, the Principal serves as Governor, one Governor is elected by staff and three Governors are elected by students at the College.The current Governors of the College are listed below.

Andrew Barnes (Chair)

Chair of Board from July 2018 following position as Vice-Chair since October 2012. Andrew is also Chairman of the Business committee.

Jill Lanning (Vice-Chair)

Vice-Chair of Board from July 2018 and Chair of the Curriculum and Standards Committee since November 2015.

Andrea Blanchflower

I have worked for the University of East Anglia since 1991 in a variety of roles.

Nikki Gray

Head of Commercial Motor Transformation, Aviva Plc.

Luke Mitchell

I’m Luke Mitchell and I’m the President of the Students’ Union at City College Norwich for the 18/19 academic year. I took A level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology and was also the LGBT+ Officer in my final year.

Corrienne Peasgood

Corrienne became College Principal in September 2012, having previously served as the Deputy Principal Curriculum.She has a clear vision of the type of educational environment that will provide not only the best opportunities for students, but also the right conditions for the whole College to develop.

Ian Webb

I am a Human Resources Business Partner working for Aviva in Norwich. I have wide ranging experience of the Financial Services Industry both in the UK and Offshore. I hope to bring my experience to benefit the College and students.

Aron Whiles

I am Headteacher at Broadland High School and have worked in secondary education for the past 18 years. Originally from Birmingham, I have held senior leadership posts in a number of schools both in the Midlands and Norfolk.
