Enrolment
Enrolment is the final stage before starting your course with us and takes place during the last two weeks of August.
You will need to attend your enrolment appointment in person at the college as you will need to sign paperwork and take your college ID photo.
Watch out for a letter from the college - you will be hearing from us early August with details about your enrolment appointment. If you don't receive your letter, you can contact us on 01603 773008 or email admissions@paston.ac.uk.
Enrolment FAQs
What do I need to bring with me to enrolment?
- Your enrolment letter.
- Your exam results or certificates.
- A form of ID for example, Driving Licence, Passport, National Insurance Card/Letter or Bank Card.
- References, tasks or other documents relating to your offer on the course if this has been requested.
- Relevant evidence to support exam access arrangements such as your Form 8 or medical evidence.
Adults:
If you are 19 or older on 31st August 2024, your course fees may be remitted based on your current income. Please bring the following documents if they apply either on your phone or paper copies:
- Evidence of your Universal Credit, Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance claim and the most recent payment.
- Evidence of any other means tested state benefits you receive.
- Your last three-monthly payslips, clearly showing your National Insurance number and the gross and net pay for the period.
- Evidence that your annual earnings are below £25,000 gross for the year.
- If you are self-employed, you should bring evidence from your accountant for your earning over the last 3-6 months.
- Any certificates for qualifications you have already achieved.
DBS:
If your course requires you to complete a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check you will be given details in your enrolment letter. This will include a form to complete and the three identity documents to bring with you to enrolment:
- At least one from: driving licence (full or provisional), passport, birth certificate.
- A bank statement, utility bill, DWP letter, HMRC document or payslip, issued in the last 3 months, or a P45 or P60 statement issued in the last 12 months.
You must bring original documents with you – copies are not accepted. Please do not send any documents in the post.
Who will I meet at enrolment?
Our Admissions team will register you when you arrive. You will then meet the teaching staff from your chosen course, as well as our enrolment team to complete the final steps before starting your course at the college.
You will also be able to meet with our student support teams including finance and bursary advice, student wellbeing and the SEND team.
How long will enrolment take?
Please arrive 15 minutes before your enrolment time and allow from 30 minutes to 2 hours to complete enrolment.
When do I start my course?
College term starts week beginning Monday 2nd September. You will be given your timetable for the start of term at enrolment.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes, you are welcome to bring someone along to your enrolment appointment with you.
What do I do if I didn't get my predicted grades?
Please still attend your enrolment appointment. If you have not met your entry requirements (or if you have exceeded them) we will discuss your options when you come in for enrolment.
What happens if I can't make my enrolment appointment?
If you are unable to make your appointment, please contact the admissions team on 01603 773008 or email admissions@paston.ac.uk as soon as possible.
What happens if I miss my enrolment appointment?
It is important that you attend your enrolment appointment so your place is not at risk. If you have missed your appointment, please contact us as soon as possible on 01603 773008 or email admissions@paston.ac.uk.
What If I want to change courses?
Please still attend your scheduled appointment – you can discuss your preferred choice with our teaching staff.
How do I get extra learning support?
If you require any extra support with your course, please contact our Curriculum Services team on SEN@ccn.ac.uk. They will also be available at enrolment to answer any questions.
Can I park at the college?
Free parking is available at the college, but space is limited. Please consider also using public transport or other local parking facilities.
How do I apply for a bursary?
You might be eligible for financial support to help cover the costs of fees, travel or kit/equipment costs. The college has several bursaries available, each with different eligibility criteria. Please look on our webpage www.paston.ac.uk/support-and-advice/student-finance for more information and to apply. Applications are now open, and we would recommend applying before enrolment as the applications can take a few weeks to process.
